The D.C. Grays (3-5) scored 11 runs and defeated the Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts (3-2) on Wednesday night at the Washington Nationals Academy. The Grays' offensive outburst was fueled by a three-hit, three-RBI night from John Marti. The LaFayette commit brought in two runs on a single in the sixth, part of a seven-run sixth inning for the Grays.
The winning pitcher for D.C. was Isaac Olson who is now 1-0 on the year with a 4.00 ERA. The losing pitcher for the T-Bolts was Yash Rane who is now 1-1 on the young season with a 7.04 ERA. Rane earned Pitcher of the Week honors last week for his performance against Alexandria.
For Silver-Spring, Chipola College commit Corey Rosier continued his hot start to the season with a double and an RBI on the night. RF Cal Villareal tallied an RBI along with 2B Matt Ballance.
The T-Bolts head back home to play the Loudon Riverdogs on Thursday Night at Montgomery Blair Stadium. The first time these two teams met, the T-Bolts won the contest by a final score of 9-2. Thursday's game starts at 7pm and will be broadcast live at tboltsradio.com.
