T-Bolts Use Sixteen Hits to Outmuscle Aces 11-7

The Silver Spring-Takoma T-Bolts (13-19) beat the Alexandria Aces (12-17) on Monday night in an offensive spectacle. Jacob Pecilunas (2-1, 8.47 ERA) was the winning pitcher for the T-Bolts, coming in relief of starter Kiernan Garner (2.0 IP, 5 H, 3 ER). Pecilunas spun three innings of three-run ball, giving up three hits and two walks while striking out three. On the Aces' side, Will Liverpool (1-2, 6.88 ERA) had a tough go of it, lasting four innings while surrendering ten runs on thirteen hits and three walks.

The T-Bolts got going right from the start as right-hander Turner Davis pulled the ball to left field for a three-RBI base hit. Their hot hitting continued in the second inning as Corey Rosier singled to that same left field to score Raven Beeman. The next batter Nick Atkinson, got on base with a shot straight to center field, scoring two and increasing the lead to 6-0. The very next batter was Turner Davis who returned to the plate after his three-RBI shot in the first to hit another base knock to left, scoring Atkinson.

The Aces fought back in the bottom of the frame as Chris Alleyne doubled to center to plate two runs. Later in the inning, Kris Kremer singled to right to score Reid Powers, but a marvelous throw by Nick Atkinson cut down Alleyne at the plate to end the opportunity for Alexandria.

After the T-Bolts failed to score in the top of the inning, the Aces added two more in the bottom of the third, cutting the lead to 7-5. The T-Bolts got back on track in the fourth as a single by Jack Roberts scored one and a single by Ace Felder scored two to make it 10-5 going into the fifth. The Aces tacked on one in the fifth on a Justin Kelly one-bagger, but the T-Bolts continued the back and forth affair by getting that run right back in the top of the sixth on a Raven Beeman sac fly.

The offenses quieted for a bit until the Aces' Isaiah Thomas was able to get a single to left to score one and bring the game to 11-7. After a silent ninth that would be your final.

The T-Bolts have two days off before getting back in action on the twelfth against the Gaithersburg Giants who are 18-14 on the campaign. Catch all the action on Thursday night at 5pm on tboltsradio.com
