The Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts (2-4) return home to Blair Stadium this evening to take on the DC Grays (4-2) in a Cal Ripken League contest. The game starts at 7 pm. Broadcast time on the Tbolts Radio Network is 6:55 pm. Neal Lavon and Alexander Dacy are on the call.
Luke Rettig (So, Lehigh), with an 0-1 record, makes his second start of the season for the T-Bolts. Facing him will be Jake Lewis (Jr, E. Kentucky Univ) who won his first start of the season against the FCA Braves on June 5, going 5.1 innings, allowing no runs and no hits. He walked one and struck out six and picked up the win in a 9-4 Grays victory.
The Grays started the season 4-0 but have lost back to back games to the Braves and to the Gaithersburg Giants. The T-Bolts have lost their last three after a 2-1 start.
Silver Spring-Takoma is home for the next four games. Following tonight’s contest against the Grays, the Bolts will take on the Alexandria Aces (Thursday, June 13), the FCA Braves (Friday, June 14), and the Gaithersburg Giants (Sunday, June 15). At press time, the Bolts are looking to make up Monday’s rainout against the Giants by adding that game to the regularly scheduled Sunday game against the Giants in a doubleheader, both games going seven innings.
