Jake Pecilunas (1-0), a Junior from Towson University, gets the start tonight for the T-Bolts when they go on the road to face the FCA Braves at South County High School in Lorton, Virginia. The Braves will throw Ryan Rue (0-1), a Sophomore from Hofstra University. Game time is 7 pm, broadcast time on the T-Bolts Radio Network is 6:55 pm. The Bolts are on a four-game win streak and have won six of their last ten to claim second place in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League, one game behind the Bethesda Big Train. The Braves are coming off a road win over the Giants last night, 6-4, and sit in fourth place, 1.5 games behind the T-Bolts.
The last time the Bolts played at South County Field, they took a three-run lead into the bottom of the ninth inning but could not hold on, and lost the game 7-6. The Bolts have taken two out of three against the Braves this season.
Pecilunas has appeared in relief this season, pitching in two games for a total of seven innings while allowing no runs, six hits. He has walked two and struck out eight. His win came in the T-Bolts 13-4 win over the Bethesda Big Train at Shirley Povich Field on June 7. Ryan Rue has appeared in two games, pitched six innings, allowed four runs, five hits, struck out seven, and walked four.
As a team, the Thunderbolts are batting .278 and produced 68 runs in ten games. The Bolts stay on the road through Thursday with games against Gaithersburg and Bethesda before returning to Blair Friday for a twin bill against Alexandria.
