The T-Bolts Tony Gallo (Jr, Lehigh) was named Offensive Player of the Week by the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League. The announcement was made last night while Tony was in the lineup for an 8-1 Bolts win at Nats Baseball Academy over the DD Grays.
According to the League, Gallo hit .333 this week, and came up in big spots. At one point, he led the league with eight RBIs (he is now tied for third) as well as two home runs. His two home this past week brought his total to four, which is tied for second most in the League, and is 17 total RBIs tie him for third.
Even when Tony wasn't driving in runs, he played key roles in setting up T-Bolts victories, just as he did Saturday night against the Grays. Gallo started a ninth inning rally where the T-Bolts scored three runs to tie the game, which they eventually won in the 11th, 5-4.. Gallo also had a five RBI game in a win over the Aces on June 21.
Tony is currently hitting a robust .333, playing the outfield, first base, and at DH this season. The T-Bolts congratulate Tony Gallo on being named CRBCL Offensive Player of the Week.
