Thunderbolts Split DH with Aces

Game One did not end up in the T-Bolts favor as they lost 9-8 in seven innings. The T-Bolts took a one run lead in the top of the first, but the Aces came back and scored two runs in each of the first three innings off starting pitcher Alex Mykut (Millersville). The Bolts came back with four in the fourth when Brenden Williams (New Mexico State) hit a triple that scored three runners and then scored on an RBI single from Cade Swisher (Virginia Tech). 

Tyler Dyball (University of Hawaii) came in to relieve and gave up three runs in the fifth on a three-run home run by the Aces’ Scotty Morgan. The T-Bolts scored three runs of their own in the top of the sixth when Brady Pearre (High Point University), Ian McMillian (University of Houston), and Cade Swisher crossed the plate. There was no further scoring.

Alex Mykut took the loss (1-1) and Connor Campbell got the win (2-0).

In the second game, the Aces got on the board in the second, but the T-Bolts scored two runs in the third. The Aces took the lead in the fourth on a two-run double by Ryan Peltier. The T-Bolts went ahead in the sixth, but the Aces tied it in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single by Scotty Morgan.

In the top of the eighth, The T-Bolts put together a Brady Pearre double, a Tony Gallo walk, and a throwing error to go ahead by two. The Aces scored one in their half of the inning, but Lyle Miller-Green struck out Daniel Brooks with the tying and winning runs aboard. Miller-Green got the win (1-0) while the Aces’ Phillip D’Ambrosio took the loss (0-1).
