The regularly scheduled single game for the Thunderbolts against the FCA Braves at South County Field scheduled for this Thursday, July 18, has now been turned into a doubleheader. The first game starts at 4:30 pm, with the second game starting around 7 pm.
The doubleheader now brings the Bolts remaining games to eight to complete the full 40-game season.
The T-Bolts Radio Network will broadcast the games; stay tuned for broadcast times and details.
The Bolts will be the “home” team for the first game of the DH and the road team for the second. This is to make up a rained-out game at Blair against the Braves. So far, the Bolts have won four out of the five games played against the Braves, winning two of two at Blair, and two of three at South County Field.
The Braves and the Gaithersburg Giants are neck and neck (one-half game separation) for fourth place with an outside chance for either team to snag third if the DC Grays falter. Second place is not out of the question but a lot more difficult unless the Thunderbolts also go on a major losing streak.
So this doubleheader is important for both teams. The Thunderbolts game Friday against the DC Grays will also have a significant playoff impact as they battle for second place in the League behind the Bethesda Big Train.
