The Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts play a doubleheader against the DC Grays this afternoon at the Nats Baseball Academy in Washington. The first game is slated for 4:30 pm, with the second game slotted for 7. The Bolts trail the Grays by a half game for second place in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League. The Grays have played three more games than the Bolts but the T-Bolts have one less loss, making for an interesting stretch run.
The second place finisher in the League gets a bye in the first round of CRCBL playoffs which would begin with a one-game play-in on June 24 for the third through sixth place teams. The remaining series are best two of three.
Tyler Dyball (So, U of Hawaii) is the scheduled pitcher for the first game; his record stands at 1-1. Dyball’s win came against the DC Grays June 22 at Blair when he pitched the final three innings in an 11-inning Bolt win, 5-4.
Alex Mykut (So, Millersville), will pitch the second game. His record is 1-0 and his win came against the Grays on June 24 in DC when he went five shutout innings in a game the Bolts won, 8-1.
Game time on the T-Bolts Radio Network is 4:25 pm with Neal Lavon on the call. Clark Boinis will handle social media.
